Role Summary
We are currently hiring for a Creative Director - Event Branding to lead a team of art directors and designers, in the development of creative concepts and ideas for our in-house events team. Our hallmark annual event, Workhuman Live® is one of the most exciting and innovative events in the world of HR, and this role plays a pivotal part in the vision and execution. Additionally, we host forums, digital events, and appear in different tradeshows - all of which will lean on your expertise and direction. This role reports to the Executive Creative Director, and up through the VP of Brand Marketing.
This role is reserved for a hands-on experiential design leader who has a track record of conceiving and creating great creative and visual storytelling, in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. You will oversee a team of designers and art directors that is responsible for:
Creative Strategy: You'll work together with the event producers and brand storytellers to establish a vision for the various events we host or attend. Most notably, our keynote event: Workhuman Live. This is more than developing design, you are working with the teams to understand the goals of the different departments and establishing an innovative experiential creative strategy that delivers results.
Event Branding & Executional oversight: In this role, you'll be responsible for the establishing and maintaining the look and feel for all aspects of events, from promotions and post-coms to the full design experience. You'll work alongside our brand storytelling team to ensure that our core messaging is paid off by the creative execution. You and the team will roll out look books, templates, CC libraries, photography, and other fundamental assets that can be adopted by internal teams and agency partners. You'll be responsible for reviewing and approving work that is executed, and ensuring it is living up to standards.
Experiential: You'll build partnerships internally (sales, customer success, product, marketing etc.) to ensure that the visual storytelling and experiential activations are delivering on the goals of each. All while leaving our audience informed, inspired and excited to take the experience back to their teams.
Creative Culture: You are an empathetic leader who is candid, caring and kind while knowing how to push teams to deliver smart, beautiful work. And while you like to roll up your sleeves and jump into a concept, you also know when to step back and coach.
Role Requirements
As a designer, you take pride in the crafting experiences that surprise and delight your audiences. You love to travel and have a strong storytelling and design sensibility that you apply to every project. You are able to influence this work in others. Your passion for creative problem-solving helps you bring unique and innovative ideas to the table without sacrificing functionality or consistency. You're constantly seeking new, innovative ideas, best practices and trends that keep our event experiences exciting.
You have managed a design team for a minimum of 5 years, across several projects and initiatives, and demonstrated the ability to build relationships and trust. You have an extensive experiential design & production background and understand what it takes to create an experience that is unforgettable.
You are self-motivated and model the values and behaviors necessary to lead within our organization. Your work ethic as well as people leader skills are considered to one of your most valuable assets in this role.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA or BFA) in Graphic Design, Illustration or Communications
  • 8-10 Years of experience and advancement in the creative industry, with 3-5 years in a principal role, developing and delivering event campaigns and experiences, and leading teams.
  • Available for travel domestically and internationally for site visits and onsite oversight where necessary.
