Job Description

Creative Director (Freelance)

We’re looking for a Creative Director with a background in art direction who will manage creative teams across two iconic brands. We’re seeking someone who is a highly conceptual problem solver, an articulate presenter of ideas, a builder of strong client relationships, and a storyteller who will convey our clients’ messaging in new and ground-breaking ways. You’ll have the chance to join a team that creates award-winning work for national and global brands in the earned media space.

You’ll be someone who values mentoring and managing teams of junior creatives, leading by example, with a keen eye for organization and detail. You’ll motivate the team and keep them focused on the task at hand – but you’ll still love getting your hands dirty managing the creative process and work alongside them. You will work closely with project management, production, and account teams to help keep the work running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute concepts that align with the creative brief
  • Oversee projects from concept to completion in addition to being a hands-on creative
  • Collaborate with creative directors, copywriters, producers and other team members to flesh out and refine creative concepts and executions
  • Create production-ready designs and layouts
  • Establish the look/tone/feel for campaigns and executions
  • Convey ideas through well-designed presentations and idea boards
  • Translate content ideas into storyboards, shot lists, casting specs, set and wardrobe recommendations, etc.
  • Attend shoots to ensure all the visual components are captured
  • Review rough cuts and convey clear, actionable feedback to editors and producers
  • Incorporate feedback from Creative Leads, teammates and clients with precision and a positive attitude
  • Ensure all visual campaign components adhere to brand guidelines

Qualifications

  • 4-6+ years of experience working in an ACD+ capacity
  • Ability to familiarize yourself quickly with the client’s brand standards
  • Comfort with juggling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately with Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) as well as presentation tools such as PowerPoint
  • Must be self-motivated, hard-working, well-organized and deadline-driven
  • Knowledgable about emerging media, trends and philosophies in design, technology, social media, storytelling and engagment
  • Must have a portfolio (may include spec work and unproduced concepts)
  • Bonus skills: UX/UI, animation, photography, retouching, content creation, videography, editorial design
