Job Description

Team: Design

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Creative Director (or, Lead Writer of Interesting Things) in the United States.

This role is a rare opportunity to redefine how a major consumer brand communicates with its users across every touchpoint. You will shape the voice of a fast-scaling digital product that helps millions of people navigate the complex, high-stress world of car ownership. Sitting at the intersection of brand, product, and growth, you will transform transactional messaging into emotionally resonant storytelling that builds trust and long-term loyalty. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Growth, Design, and Customer Insights. This is a hands-on, high-impact individual contributor role where every word you write directly influences customer perception and engagement. Over time, you will help evolve the brand voice into a distinctive, recognizable presence across channels and communities.

Accountabilities

This role is responsible for defining and elevating the brand voice across all customer-facing communications, turning functional messaging into compelling, human-centered storytelling that builds trust and engagement.

  • Rewrite and elevate CRM, email, SMS, push notifications, and in-app messaging to create a cohesive, emotionally engaging brand voice
  • Partner with Product, Design, Growth, and Customer Insights teams to translate user needs into clear, empathetic, and high-performing copy
  • Own the evolution of brand tone and messaging across organic and lifecycle touchpoints
  • Conduct qualitative research and synthesize user insights into messaging that resonates with real customer pain points
  • Lead the creative direction for future brand campaigns, experiments, and community engagement initiatives (including social platforms such as Reddit)
  • Contribute to positioning and messaging for new product launches and emerging features
  • Shape long-term brand storytelling strategies that drive trust, retention, and community growth
  • Requirements

The ideal candidate is a senior-level creative marketer and copywriting expert with a strong ability to turn complex or emotionally neutral topics into compelling narratives that connect with audiences.

    • 7+ years of experience in creative marketing, copywriting, or brand storytelling, ideally within consumer tech or startup environments
    • Proven expertise in CRM, lifecycle marketing, email, SMS, and product copywriting with measurable impact
    • Exceptional writing portfolio demonstrating clarity, creativity, and emotional resonance across different formats
    • Strong understanding of audience development, brand positioning, and behavioral messaging
    • Experience working in fast-paced, data-informed environments where creativity must align with performance goals
    • Familiarity with social/community-driven channels (e.g., Reddit) and organic brand building is a strong plus
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
    • First-principles thinker with the ability to translate user pain points into compelling narrative-driven copy
    • Benefits

      • Competitive compensation package including base salary and potential equity grants
      • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, and vision)
      • Paid time off, parental leave, and wellness support programs
      • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
      • Opportunity to help define and build a brand voice from the ground up
      • High-impact role with direct influence on product, growth, and customer experience
      • Flexible, fast-paced startup environment with strong ownership and autonomy
      • Exposure to a large-scale consumer platform with millions of users
