Creative Intern

This is an exciting opportunity for a Creative Internship in Washington, DC with the dynamic, creative team at Throughline.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

You are a current graduate student interested in joining us for the Summer 2024 internship season. You are a savvy go-getter with experience and further interests in communications, strategy, design, marketing, design strategy and/or research. You have a related major and a demonstrated history of initiative and achievement. You are organized, enthusiastic, smart, and personable. You actively demonstrate an eagerness to learn. 

• Interested candidates will submit a resume, cover letter, and portfolio displaying how they meet the following requirements. Please note that a cover letter is mandatory, and applicants without one will not be considered for this role. 

KEY FUNCTIONS

• Create and prepare graphics using Adobe Creative Cloud to support any project
• Assist in building physical compositions for internal and client review
• Brainstorm with multiple POD teams from contributing ideas to printing
• Help to create and make updates to multiple internal sales materials
• Assist with static or video production (shooting, editing, including retouching)
• Run and support internal design requests and projects
• Collaborate productively in large interdisciplinary teams, take on several projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, stay organized, and communicate effectively
• Show a professional demeanor, proactivity, flexibility, and a cooperative spirit

QUALIFICATIONS

• Available to work in our Washington, DC or Pax River Studios
• Graduate Student (will consider rising Seniors seeking degree in a related field of study)
• Mandatory online digital creative portfolio possessing no less than 10 diverse components
• Should have knowledge in print and website layout, typography, iconography, illustration and print production
• Able to assess a project need and recommend the best program/format to produce it in
• Able to jump into a file and make quickly make edits
• Able to pick out inconsistencies within a graphic
• Able to accurately QA files and prep them to be sent out
• Aware of current design trends
• Must be able to adhere to a client style and branding guides
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Suites, knowledge in 3D modeling a plus
• HTML & CSS or any established web languages are a plus
• Proactive and entrepreneurial spirit
