Creative Intern -Summer 2023- SYNAPTIK DIGITAL - US

SUMMER INTERNSHIP : June 5, 2023 - August 18, 2023 (minimum requirement of 20 hours per week)

Nucleus Global, a leading independent healthcare communications group with approximately 800 employees around the globe, is offering paid internships for a select few candidates from June 5, 2023 through August 18, 2023. Our seasoned creative and digital staff at Synaptik Digital are ready to mentor and eager to share their many years of knowledge and expertise with a group of passionate, inquisitive interns who are interested in learning more about our industry and potential future careers in the creative and digital side of medical communications.

With guidance and support from senior Creative Services colleagues, the Creative Intern will execute components of project design concepts. They will support the Creative Services team by contributing to the creation of materials, presentations, digital deliverables, meeting materials, and the activities related to the production and distribution of these items. The Creative intern may develop fundamental skills related to internal and external stakeholder communications, gain experience in a fast-paced team dynamic, and complete assigned tasks that contribute to the success of the business. 

Learning experiences may include:

• Graphic design for the healthcare industry
• Quality assurance and process of design revisions (i.e., taking direction and incorporating feedback)
• Managing non-complex projects
• File sharing processes and organization
• Collaborating in a team environment
• Using diverse software applications and digital platforms
• Understanding production pipeline processes and best practices

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with tasks supporting project-related deliverables (which may include, but are not limited to):
• Creating illustrations, graphics, and layouts for print and digital media
• Executing data and info visualizations based on sketches from senior creatives
• Contributing to the creative ideation process of concept development, including storyboards or concept art for videos and animations
• Reviewing printouts and mockups for quality control
• User testing of applications on company devices
• Re-creating figures in appropriate formats for various end deliverables
• Video production pipeline support, such as keying live green screen footage, preparing and managing files for submission to render farms, modeling, rigging, or editing audio
• Participate in internal team meetings/calls and trainings, as appropriate
• Scheduling meetings based on team member availability
• Preparing meeting notes and drafting summaries for follow-up communications
• Assist with internal projects to support company goals
• Complete and present a collaborative internship project to support company business objectives

• Currently matriculated student in good standing; preference given to students:
  • Entering Senior year of academic program
  • Majoring in Art/Design or related fields
  • Expressing an interest in the medical communications field
• Minimum cumulative GPA must be at least 3.000 (on 4.0 scale)
• Must be eager to learn, self-motivated, flexible, accountable and effectively able to handle multiple tasks at one time
• Demonstrate behavior expected of a professional member of Nucleus Global
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast changing environment with a strong attention to detail, communicate effectively and work well in a cross functional environment
• Experience in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience using creative software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects, and Premiere), Autodesk (Maya), and Pixologic (Zbrush) 
• Experience with Typography and UX/UI Design

• Strong design skills, drawing ability, and attention to detail

• Excellent interpersonal, organization, and written and verbal communication skills
• Professional letter of recommendation (academic advisor, professor, etc.)
• Submission of essay answering two of the following:
  • Why do you want this intern experience?
  • What do you hope to achieve through this internship?
  • Describe the importance of teamwork and describe an experience where you were an effective team member
