The Opportunity

As IGN's Creative Solutions' Creative Management Lead, you'll leverage your experience in project management to lead a team of project managers who work cross-departmentally - with the Sales, Strategy, Account Services, Production, and Design teams, among others - to support the execution of custom commercial campaigns. This role will build, guide, and shape processes that translate creative concepts, both small and large, into actionable roadmaps that facilitate the smooth execution of creative dreams into producible realities.

This position is accountable for the performance and needs of the wider Creative Management team, acting as a point of escalation for anyone connected to the execution of client deliverables such as project managers, strategists, video producers, video editors, and designers. As such, this team is responsible for the development and management of all sponsored and custom partnership programs from the point of being sold through all production phases to putting the assets live. This role will establish and maintain best practices and workflows for the smooth execution of everything our clients buy including branded content, custom ads, microsites, white-label content, event sponsorship, and more.

The Creative Management Lead is also responsible for evolving our processes and finding efficiencies which cater to the needs of a globally-scaled Creative Solutions department, ultimately working to improve the overall performance and delivery of all custom creative.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of project managers responsible for overseeing the execution of custom campaign deliverables (including branded content, custom ads, sponsorships, and more)

• Manage the overall project pipeline, assigning work internally and advising on what needs to be outsourced where necessary

• Build and manage a rolodex of vendors and third-party contractors that can be used on a variety of projects and maintain those relationships

• Manage a high volume of bids, many with tight turnarounds

• Work collaboratively with the production team, providing guidance on lead times and production budgets required to execute on original ideas

• Work collaboratively with the design team, providing guidance on lead times and design considerations required to execute on original ideas

• Providing feedback and direction on proposed timelines and anticipated production resources during pre-production

• Develop, document, and implement standards and best practices for branded content.

• When necessary, revising timelines and production schedules based on client or internal feedback

• Establishing a process for, and then coordinate appropriate, internal sign-offs

• Iterate on current processes related to both the pre- and post-sale project management touch points

• Provide insight and direction for the project management team

• Serve as a senior representative for the execution side of the business

• Hire and coordinate freelancers as needed

• Oversee budget reporting, management, and communication for all of the team's projects

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the suite of IGN ad products and how to use them to meet campaign KPIs

• Provide weekly updates to the executive team on published content, deliverables, resources, and team needs

• Mentor the Creative Management team by providing clear objectives and training to help their professional development

Job Qualifications

• Passion for IGN, its content and its subject matter

• Experience working with teams that create content which resonates with people

• Experience managing projects of all scales

• A clear understanding of the video content production process and the design (both static and motion) workflow

• An understanding of the RFP process and how to work with teams that responsible for it

• 5+ years managing dynamic, high performance teams

• An openness to continually implement and evolve processes and best practices

• An ability to respond to and action feedback on their ideas and work from internal and external stakeholders

• A collaboration-oriented approach to all tasks, large and small

• Proven experience working effectively with cross-functional teams (technical and non technical) and all levels of management (internally and externally)

• 6+ years experience working in a digital media environment

• Experience working across global time zones

• Experience providing insight on digital ad and display media

• Past experience in physical production is a plus

• Knowledge and understanding of unions (SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA, IATSE, etc), also a plus

Salary Disclosure: Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $115k to $125k, plus incentive compensation (for eligible roles only), 401K with company match, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, and a flexible time off policy.
