Creative Marketing Editor

General Summary
The Creative Marketing Editor is responsible for developing and executing editorial content across all LAIKA Marketing initiatives, including Film and Studio Promotion, Social Media, Events, Publicity and Consumer Products. This role will liaise between Production, VFX and Marketing to aid in developing the editorial pipeline for Creative Marketing content creation.
Job Functions
- Edit videos for trailers, commercials, interviews, featurettes, social media content, b-roll, sizzle reels, behind-the-scenes content, etc.
- Contribute to team brainstorming and work with Marketing leadership to align content strategy with direction from studio leadership.
- Color-correct media to adjust skin tones, brightness, contrast, etc.
- Balance audio mixes and adjust dialogue, music and sound effects.
- Work with Media Services team on the delivery of post-production finishing and archival standards for video outputs.
- Establish working relationships with the current film production and VFX editorial teams to integrate Marketing efforts into the studio editorial Avid pipeline.
- Ensure all media consistently presents a unified visual aesthetic reflective of LAIKA Studio and Film branding.
- Create and support content creation with an inclusive, hands-on collaborative approach.
- Responsible for proper file management, project organization, editorial workflow, and quality assurance.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in an editorial/multimedia area of professional work (online portfolio required).
- Editorial experience in a film, TV, commercial or social media production company.
- Experience with DaVinci Resolve (experience with Avid Media Composer, a plus).
- Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite with primary focus on Premiere, Photoshop, and Lightroom (After Effects knowledge, a plus).
- Knowledge and experience with HD, 2k, 4k, HDR workflows (frame rates, aspect ratios, timecode generation, video codecs, video transcoding) and media export formats (strong understanding of QuickTime Codecs, EDLs, XMLs, and AAFs).
- Demonstrated communication skills, highly collaborative and open to direction.
- Strong eye for detail, timing, film language and storytelling.
