What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for a Creative Project Manager II to join our creative team. This role is responsible for receiving and managing a substantial volume of creative requests from various internal stakeholder teams. The Creative Project Manager II sits on the creative operations team, which is part of our internal creative agency. 

The Creative Marketing team is a full-service in-house agency supporting all marketing efforts across the 2U and edX portfolio of programs and products. We act as strategic partners with our marketing stakeholders, and seek out collaborative solutions to elevate our creative and drive our business. 

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Hands-on Execution 
    • Oversee the intake process and assess JIRA tickets and creative briefs before scheduling to address any issues proactively.
    • Assess feasibility of deadline requests and identify potential risks to project timelines.
    • Serve as the creative project management lead for all large scale initiatives.
    • Attend kickoff meetings to align CMG team, stakeholders, and implementation teams on scope and timelines. 
    • Collaborate closely with project stakeholders, providing updates and addressing changes.
    • Address issues promptly when they arise, and escalate when necessary.
    • Facilitate project post mortems for process and system improvement.
    • Assign and delegate appropriate projects to project managers and coordinators.
    • Contribute to the training of PMs and PCs
  • Strategy and Thought Leadership 
    • Drive accountability and continuous improvement in creative project management.
    • Identify opportunities for systems and tools optimization.
    • Utilize the resourcing system to balance workloads effectively across the team.
    • Participate in project management candidate interviews and assist with training.
    • Serve as a backup to the Manager when out of office.
  • Collaboration and Relationship Building 
    • Foster strong team and stakeholder relationships, promoting collaboration and trust.
    • Clearly communicate workflows and processes to internal and external teams.
  • Mentorship 
    • Offer guidance and feedback to project managers and coordinators.
    • Analyze the work of other PMs (schedules, reports, communications) for accuracy and clarity.

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • PMP certification recommended
  • 7-10 years of project management experience
  • Experience in an agency setting preferred
  • Experience in higher education is a plus
  • Proficiency in using Google Office suite for effective communication, documentation, and collaboration
  • Proficiency in working with an industry-standard project management system, preferably Jira Cloud and SmartSheets.
  • Experience working with resource management systems.

This position is open to candidates who are available to come into our Headquarters in Lanham, MD two days a week for a hybrid schedule.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is ($95,000 - $105,000), with potential bonus eligibility. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
