Creative Strategist, Brand
Job Description
Code and Theory is looking for a Creative Strategist, Brand to lead day-to-day strategic engagements across clients and new business pitches. Proactive and a self-starter, this person is able to quickly understand what activities and deliverables are required to steer a client engagement to success and effectively lead an integrated team to produce against that project vision. Please note that in this role, you should feel comfortable working across multiple clients and workstreams at once, and be able to manage priorities for yourself appropriately.
Because Code and Theory is a digital-first agency, born at the intersection of creativity and technology, a critical part of this role is activating creative, data-driven technology solutions that drive business outcomes. To do this, you will be expected to work with clients to understand their goals and objectives, identify what their brand needs to do to achieve them, bring in the right internal partners within Code to develop a plan (e.g., analytics, technology, creative), and deliver the most digital-first, data-driven, creative solution to get the job done (be it marketing strategies, activations, campaigns). You will also be expected to liaise with other external agencies to accomplish these outcomes, such as media agencies or research firms.
This person should possess strong expertise across a spectrum of strategic planning areas including:
- Consumer insight development
- Business consultation
- Brand development and storytelling
- Campaign communications
- Content development
- Digital media and best practices
- Digital experiences, services, and platform
This person would be responsible for driving high quality, high performing, engaging and innovative work for clients, while also contributing to overall agency thought leadership. They will require a strong sense of collaboration to work closely with cross-discipline teams both internally and externally. Building strong relationships and a sense of trust to counsel the team and clients is of key importance.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Assist in overall success or failure of creative strategy on a given project, supporting strategy for any given client engagement
- Contribute to strategy for a given client engagement and help present findings to client stakeholders
- Partner to develop materials required to support client developmentÂ
- Participating in creative brainstorms in order to ensure adherence to overall strategy; driving key decisions and communicate results to broader project team
- Conducting targeted research into brand, competitive, or business whitespace through reviewing of secondary and primary sources
ESSENTIALS
- Capability in most key areas of brand development, namely brand positioning, brand architecture, messaging, innovation, packaging, retail, portfolio analysis and research
- Proven track record of leading successful brand engagements in the past – delivering strategic solutions and rolling up your sleeves to bring those solutions to life
- Capability in qualitative and quantitative data analysis; past performance in uncovering insights as well as areas of opportunity for business growth
- Should have an interest in expanding capabilities beyond traditional branding into campaign development and digital product development
- Ability to interface with both day-to-day clients and senior business executives to drive strategic decisions around key project milestones
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills
- Focused on promoting continual optimization and actively contributing to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability
- Ability to create a fun, inspirational, and collaborative environment with cross-functional teams to foster a shared sense of ownership and success
