This position is responsible for performing credit risk analysis on new and existing customers and providing recommendations on the establishment of credit limits based on financial, industry, business, and market information. In addition, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining all assigned credit reports along with performing other analysis as needed.  The Financial Analyst will build and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally and support the credit team in meeting all departmental and company goals.  Every Gas South Analyst is a problem-solver who drives the growth of our business and provides not only invaluable technical support within their departments, but also serve as internal consultants who work cross-functionally to tackle a wide array of challenging business problems.  Becoming a Gas South Analyst offers exceptional growth opportunity with a four-level career path.  As Analyst grow and gain experience, they progress through the four levels (I, II, Senior, Lead) and take on greater responsibility as both contributors and leaders.   

Other stuff we like:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong technical and quantitative skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting and financial statements
  • Effective time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Solid understanding of data analysis, model building, model valuation
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Internship or prior work experience
  • Excellent academic record with a quantitative or finance-based degree
  • Relevant experience in financial analysis

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Monitor counterparty exposure to ensure that trading activity is in line with established credit limits and relevant credit policy
  • Monitor customer aggregate exposures to insure they are within tolerance of set credit limits
  • Make credit decisions within assigned authority for credit checks and credit reviews
  • Prepare credit reviews for counterparties to assess credit quality and recommend appropriate credit limit
  • Develop strong relationships with Sales, SRM, Legal, Accounting, and Operations to ensure accurate and relevant information sharing across departments
  • Support the adherence to credit/risk policies and procedures by all departments
  • Prepare and maintain reports to monitor and identify credit risks
  • Provide clear interpretation and presentation of financial data and analysis to stakeholders
  • Review and analyze financial stability and risk factors of all customer classes
  • Make strategic recommendations for solutions to business problems
  • Improve operational and analytical efficiency
  • Assist in managing credit policy documentation
  • Various ad hoc requests, reports, and projects as assigned

Pay range is commensurate with education, experience, specialized skills or certifications, etc.
