Credit Risk Associate

• What you'll do at Avant
  
  • Become part of Avant Credit Cards Risk team to review and analyze strategies and models created by the product and business teams
  • Track and report on portfolio and industry trends to stay ahead of an always-evolving consumer lending environment
  • Develop loss forecast for the cards portfolio at various levels, taking inputs from both historical performance and industry trend judgements
  • Support the adoption of firm-wide Credit Risk governance framework and act as an expert on governance related activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments on new initiatives and projects
  • Identify insights in big datasets, and develop and present recommendations
• We are looking for:
  
  • Bachelor's degree with specialization in business, analytics, statistics, math, engineering, or economics. Masters degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in an analytical role in financial services or consulting. Credit Risk experience is a plus
  • 3+ years of strong SQL and data analytics abilities
  • 2+ years Experience with open-source analytical tools such as Python or R
  • 2+ years of Data Visualization skills such as Looker (or Tableau, Power BI etc)
  • 2+ years Experience in portfolio Loss Forecasting and reserve calculations. Experience with CECL is a plus !
  • Excellent business judgment
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Have credit card, personal loans, or other consumer lending experience
  • Exposure to risk governance framework and experience working in credit risk is preferred
