Your Role and Responsibilities

You will lead the efforts within IBM Quantum to define and execute the roadmap for cryogenic infrastructure needed to deliver on IBM’s published quantum systems roadmap. In this exciting endeavor you will work closely with quantum computing components and systems experts within IBM and external vendors of cryogenic refrigeration systems to build a long term plan for prototypes and production systems of the future.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 5 years experience working with dilution refrigerators in a lab environment
• At least 5 years experience with aspects of cryogenic infrastructure like liquid He coolers and associated componentry to operate such systems
• Expertise in working with equipment vendors defining specifications and collaborating to develop targeted products.
• At least 5 years experience working in a team environment with demonstrated skills to deliver results.
• Demonstrated expertise to manage projects with cross-functional team members and with well defined schedules.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with quantum computing technologies
• Deep experience with building blocks of dilution refrigerators with ideas on opportunities to efficiently scale cryogenic infrastructure.
• Knowledge of the dilution refrigerator vendor landscape and potential opportunities to engage with them.
