Job Overview
Seeking an experiencedCulinary Directorto lead dining services at a senior assisted living community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for senior care, strong leadership skills, and a background in nutrition and foodservice management. Responsibilities include menu planning, team leadership, and ensuring high-quality, nutritious meals for residents.
Responsibilities
β’ Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards.
β’ Manage inventory control, including ordering and receiving supplies, to maintain optimal stock levels.
β’ Proven leadership in foodservice management
β’ Knowledge of dietary needs for seniors
β’ Strong communication and organizational skills
β’ Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, presentation, and service excellence.
β’ Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health regulations and safety protocols.
β’ Maintains a positive, pleasant manner at all times realizing that work environment can be stressful and demanding.
Qualifications
β’ Proven experience in a culinary role within a fast-paced environment, preferably in food service management or hospitality.
β’ High School Diploma or equivalent industry experience.
β’ Strong knowledge of kitchen management practices, including inventory control and food management systems.
β’ Experience in team management, demonstrating the ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff effectively.
β’ Familiarity with various cooking techniques and cuisines, along with a passion for creating memorable dining experiences.
β’ Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
β’ Must be knowledgeable of and skilled in operation of all kitchen equipment.
β’ Must be able to work independently without direct supervision by following all community policies and procedures.
β’ Must maintain a current driverβs license.
β’ Must possess a genuine compassion for the elderly and disabled.
