Your Opportunity
This is a career opportunity for a Senior Architectural Historian for a leading environmental consulting firm providing NEPA/CEQA analyses, technical studies, and project permitting to a wide variety of private and federal, state, and local government clients in the southeastern U.S. The individual will lead cultural resources projects, provide technical expertise to environmental and engineering colleagues on project teams, provide leadership to develop the GDOT cultural resource program, and work collaboratively with others in the southeastern cultural resource practice
Your Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical resource lead and/or principal investigator for cultural resource investigations.
- Lead and collaborate on growing our cultural resources practice in Georgia
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality technical products through implementation and of quality review and independent review protocols.
- Position Stantec to be a leader in cultural resources with the Georgia Department of Transportation, and other private and public clients.
- Support proposal development by preparing technical elements including scope, budget, and schedule to ensure complete satisfaction.
- Collaborate to establish the physical and personnel resources to execute cultural resource work efficiently in Georgia.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Professional writing, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Experience leading and conducting all phases of cultural resource work in Georgia.
- Proven experience of positive relationship with GA SHPO and other regulatory agencies.
- Section 106 and 110 (NHPA) Consultation
- Assessments of eligibility and effects for built environment resources
- Historic Property Treatment Plans
- SOI qualified in Architectural History or History
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
Education and Experience
MA or MHP in cultural resources, historic preservation, or history. An emphasis on Georgia cultural resources required. Additional familiarity with southeastern cultural resources preferred. Demonstrated expertise in the application and interpretation of Georgia and federal laws and regulations for linear projects.
Minimum 10 years experience in cultural resources. Proven project management and program development experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
