Custodian/Janitor

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a focus on both industrial and commercial spaces. Responsibilities • Perform routine cleaning duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors. • Buff and maintain floors to ensure they are clean and presentable. • Conduct industrial cleaning tasks as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards. • Assist in facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs promptly. • Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts effectively. • Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas. • Provide porter services as needed, including moving furniture or equipment. • Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored properly. Skills • Proven experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred. • Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and maintenance practices. • Familiarity with industrial cleaning methods and safety protocols. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards. • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when necessary. • Basic knowledge of facilities maintenance is a plus. • Experience in residential painting is an advantage but not required.
