Custodian/Janitor

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. Duties • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas. • Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and polishing to maintain high standards of cleanliness. • Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, ensuring that all areas are well-maintained. • Carry out industrial and commercial cleaning duties, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines. • Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas by restocking supplies and sanitizing surfaces. • Execute residential painting tasks when required to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the facilities. • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly. Skills • Proven experience in custodial or porter roles is preferred. • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment used in both industrial and commercial settings. • Familiarity with floor care practices including buffing and maintenance of various flooring types. • Ability to perform basic facilities maintenance tasks effectively. • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
