About Us: We at Davis Gallery & Framing continue the tradition established by Bill Davis at the Tarrytown Gallery in 1979. Serving as a home to many of the best local and regional painters, printmakers, sculptors and ceramicists, we have consistently promoted a taste and style that has won critics awards and the respect of Austin’s art community. We are looking for a custom frame builder, to add to our team. Attention to detail, the ability to effectively complete work in a timely manner and eagerness to learn are a must. Responsibilities: • Cutting frame moulding using a double mitre drop saw • Joining frame moulding using a (oldschool) pneumatic underpinner • Perform light computer work • Clean and organize work area daily to maximize safety and efficiency • Follow detailed paperwork directions • Communicate effectively with teammates and vendors • Stretching canvas • Learn new skills as required for picture framing, packing and crating • Support teammates as needed Qualifications: • Experience in retail frame building operations including measuring, designing, cutting glass, proper paper handling and fitting/assembling frame orders • Attention to detail • Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency to complete projects quickly and accurately • Excellent measuring and basic math skills • Great communication with coworkers, with a positive attitude • Reliable and responsible • Ability to lift 50 pounds and frequent sitting, standing, bending or stooping for extended periods if time • Ability to learn new techniques Required: • High School diploma or equivalent. • Ability to successfully pass a background check Work Remotely • No Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • Employee discount • On-the-job training • Paid time off • Tools provided Ability to Commute: • Austin, TX 78701 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • Austin, TX 78701: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
