The Position

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Tech Lead. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modern .NET frameworks and C#, with extensive full stack experience including RESTful API design, microservices, service bus technologies, containerisation and unit testing, with proficiency in front-end web development technologies including React, CSS, JavaScript and API integration. Outsystems experience is an advantage.

As tech lead, they will be responsible for guiding our development team, ensuring the delivery of high quality software solutions and driving technological innovation within the project and organisation.

Skills and Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership

  • Lead the development team in designing, developing and maintaining software applications.

  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to other team members.

  • Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards and Roche architectural guidelines.

• Software Development

  • Develop robust and scalable solutions using modern .NET frameworks and C#.

  • Design and implement RESTful APIs, ensuring they are secure, performant and easy to use, promoting re-use wherever possible.

  • Integrate with external APIs and data sources.

  • Lead by example in developing clean and maintainable source code.

• Frontend Development

  • Utilise the LEAP/Outsystems platform for rapid application development, ensuring scalability and performance.

  • Lead the development of Reactive user interfaces ensuring high performance and responsiveness.

  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to suggest and implement UI designs that are usable and intuitive.

  • Write clean and maintainable CSS and javascript code where required.

• Database Management

  • Utilise EF core for data access and management in conjunction with relational databases.

  • Work with both relational databases (e.g. SQlServer, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB) to meet diverse data storage and retrieval needs.

  • Design and optimise database schemas.

• Testing and Quality Assurance

  • Implement unit testing and mocking strategies to ensure code quality and reliability.

  • Conduct regular code reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards.

• Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to develop the solution in line with the overall product vision.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including, other developers, designers, product managers and business users.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing technical insights and updates on project progress.
