Makr Furniture - Special Shapes Woodworker At Makr furniture we often create custom pieces of furniture made to our clients’ specifications. We have a department dedicated to these custom projects we call Special Shapes. Their role is to create custom one-off furniture with a high degree of skill and craft. We are looking for a skilled woodworker to join this team. We are looking for someone with the following skills: • Ability to understand shop drawings and use them as assembly instructions when building furniture. • A good working knowledge of slide saw, chop saw, hand router, palm sander, spray gun, utility knife, nail gun, staple gun, file, and other basic woodworking tools. • Ability to read metric and standard tape measure. • Ability to apply, trim and finish wood or plastic edge banging. • Ability to assemble furniture and components with limited guidance. • Ability to sand and finish solid wood or MDF with both wipe on and spray finishes. • Ability to lay up HPL and veneer on flat core boards with spray contact adhesive. • Ability to lay up HPL and veneer on curved surfaces with spray contact adhesive then trim and finish edges. • Ability to follow instructions and learn new tools and techniques. • Ability to operate a computer to clock in out of jobs, keep track of hours, and access drawings/job information. • Ability to move/organize furniture pieces and components that can be large, cumbersome, or heavy. • We are looking for a self-starter who takes the initiative to solve problems and get the job done. • We are looking for someone who is a team player and who doesn’t mind doing many different types of jobs to support production. Preferred experience • Experience as a professional woodworker. • Experience in manufacturing environment. • Experience working with CNC tools (edge bander, boring machine, CNC router) • Experience working with cabinetry or furniture. • Experience working in the field for installation and repair.
