As a Key Account/Customer Development/Management Sr. Manager at Mars, you would be responsible for leading development and execution of key account strategies for Kroger across our everyday in aisle and overview the front-end portfolio of products. This position will create, implement, and run short- and long-term strategic business plans, including but not limited to annual promotional planning, strategic pricing, shelving and assortment recommendations to accelerate mutual growth for Mars Wrigley and Kroger's confectionary category sales.

This role will lead and manage the relationship with our Kroger category manager on a day to day basis and is expected to maintain strong relationships internally and externally to execute customer plans that deliver objectives of net sales volume, market share growth, product/assortment, placement/everyday shelving, merchandising, pricing, and promotions.

Additionally, this customer business lead will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and manage monthly deliverables internally and externally. Examples being but not limited to:

  • monthly volume estimate and trade reconciliation
  • monthly promotional planning and submission; with focus on driving greatest efficiencies and ROI on promotion
  • new item KOMPASS assortment decisions
  • oversee and ensure promotional forms and submissions are submitted accurately and on time from the team to Kroger

What are we looking for?

  • 5 years of CPG account management or marketing experience within a retail setting.
  • You'll also need to hold a Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred
  • You'll need a valid driver's license and clean driving record with ability to drive 50% of the time
  • Previous experience working with syndicated data sources: IRI, Nielsen, RetailLink, 84.51 etc.
  • Experience with Kroger, Grocery channel, key account management, category management, shopper insights, or broker management within CPG strongly preferred.
What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead our Mars Wrigley Everyday In Aisle & oversee our front end business to execute customer plans that deliver objectives of: net sales volume, market share growth, product/assortment, placement/everyday shelving, merchandising, pricing, and promotions
  • Manage the following monthly processes but not limited to:
  • monthly volume estimate and trade reconciliation monthly promotional planning and submission; with focus on driving greatest efficiencies and ROI on promotion
  • new item KOMPASS assortment decisions oversee and ensure promotional forms and submissions are submitted accurately and on time from the team to Kroger

  • Foster strong customer relationships with Kroger's category manager to ensure a long-term partnership that promotes sales growth through strategic partnership.
  • Propose mutually beneficial solutions and have crucial conversations when necessary.
  • Manage team communications to drive engagement and action.
  • Act as an informal mentor/leader across teams to support those with less experience
