Job Description

Join us in creating the technology that helps the world act together

We are a B2B technology innovation leader pioneering the future where networks meet cloud. At Nokia you will have a positive impact on people's lives and help build the capabilities needed for a more productive, sustainable, and accessible world.

Be part of a culture built on an inclusive way of working where we are open to your ideas, you are empowered to take risks and are encouraged to be fearless in bringing your authentic self to work.

The team you'll be part of

The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia's Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.

Fixed Networks (FN) provides an array of "gigabit to the home" solutions that deliver data access to our communication service provider (CSP) customers. This includes Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) as well as 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), and xDSL/G.Fast access technologies. We build solutions that do not stop at the home; we also bring gigabit experience into the home using our advanced meshed Wi-Fi products. The Fixed Network solution management applications are cloud native and deployed on Kubernetes in private cloud or public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).

We challenge ourselves to create an inclusive way of working where we are open to new ideas, empowered to take risks and fearless to bring our authentic selves to work. We encourage a learning and caring culture where a person's drive to learn and fit into our team is more important than any specific technical skill.

The Customer Engineering team works with customers in the Americas region who buy our products/solutions with demo/lab trials/proof of concepts and then help the customers to integrate and deploy our access technology solutions. The Customer Engineering team works with customers, sales, business development, product management, and R&D teams as part of our daily work.

What you will learn and contribute to

  • Be part of a program that prepares you for a career in networking, automation, and cloud computing
  • Have the opportunity to learn and work with various access technologies (GPON, XGS-PON, 25GS-PON, 5G FWA, Mesh Wi-Fi, G.Fast), Ethernet/MPLS, IP Routing protocols, container (K8S), and cloud computing technologies
  • Trained on and be able to setup multiple products and management solutions in the Fixed Networks portfolio
  • Work with other customer engineers on technology proof of concepts and automation projects

Your skills and experience

You have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer/Software/Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Linux operating systems
  • Experience with scripting or coding
  • Knowledge of Ethernet and IP Networking
  • Passion for technology, problem solving, and customer engagement
  • Great team and communication skills, fluent English is expected

It would be nice if you also had:

  • High flexibility, initiative, and commitment
  • Eagerness to continuously learn, develop and grow
  • Analytical skills and curiosity
  • Ability to work well across multi-cultural teams
  • Actively seek and provide feedback

***Sponsorship or relocation will not be offered for this position***
