Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture and development methodologies, including modernizing legacy applications and application performance profiling and tuning, in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with architectural design patterns, virtualization and container deployments, Infrastructure-as-Code, and web application security and networking.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with developing scalable architectures using API management, microservice frameworks, and PaaS.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C , etc.).
  • Knowledge of software development life-cycle.
  • Knowledge of platform engineering, including Infrastructure-as-Code and automation, image management and repository management.

As a Customer Engineer, you will work with technical Sales teams as an enterprise hybrid cloud subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business issues, engage in proofs-of-concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$214,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Provide enterprise infrastructure/cloud modernization expertise to support the technical relationship with Google's customers, including product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partner with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
  • Guide customers through assessments of their existing legacy application environments, provide recommendations on a prioritization roadmap for application modernization, identify applicant applications for migration to hybrid-cloud computing models.
  • Structure and execute prototyping workshops to prove out proposed new architectures, developing best practices, and documenting key blocking requirements for prioritization with engineering.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed.
