DigitalOcean's product engineering organization enables customers to easily build highly scalable creative applications and services on our cloud platform. We serve a passionate developer community that has grown to love our intuitive simple design, easily configurable infrastructure, and intuitive tutorials helping craft and run their software in the cloud.
As a customer engineer on the DigitalOcean Kubernetes team, you will act as the technical advisor for business users. You will build internal/external tools and practices to help drive maturity of kubernetes adoption at scale. This is a senior engineering role under the Kubernetes business unit.
What You'll Be Doing:
- You will report to the product organization, while being closely aligned with engineering.
- Combination of engineering, support, technical leadership, and product sense.
- Act as the point of contact for highest-level engineering escalations.
- Act as the direct engineering interface with tech users using kubernetes at scale.
- Triage and help resolve technical escalations. Drive cross-functional coordination as needed.
- Come up with innovative tools and practices to scale triage, self-service troubleshooting, and hence drive costs lower, while delighting our users.
- Build DigitalOcean Kubernetes integration for technology partners.
- Running experiments to optimize user experience and increase adoption of Kubernetes and Container Registry products.
- Contributing to open-source projects and collaborating with our developer community.
- Finding emerging tools, trends, and methodologies and showing your team how to integrate them against existing systems and processes.
- Be a trusted advisor to key DigitalOcean customers and act as a liaison between customers and internal teams.
What You'll Add To DigitalOcean:
- Exemplify DigitalOcean values.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming and microservices.
- Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Software development in Go and/or Python.
- Experience in troubleshooting, customer success, or on-call engineering.
- Enjoy working with customers and driving cross-functional engagements.
- Passion for identifying and solving problems at scale.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Genuine interest in DigitalOcean as a company and excitement to use our products in your projects (if you haven't already!)
