The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia's Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
The Customer Engineering (CE) team works with customers, sales, business development, customer delivery, product management, and R&D to provide pre-sales engineering support and post-sales professional services to Fixed Networks customers in the Americas region. The Customer Engineering Operations role partners directly with senior management for operations activities within the North America (NAM) and Latin America (LAT) regions.
What you will learn and contribute to
As part of our team, you will contribute in the following capacities:
- FINANCE
- REVENUE RECOGNITION - verify new billable projects are established correctly in systems to insure accurate revenue recognition. Monitor customer acceptance and confirmation process to insure timely and accurate revenue recognition. Ensure orders and journal entries are generated to distribute revenue to organization as forecasted. Investigate and resolve discrepancies and potential roadblocks.
- COST ANALYSIS - verify billable projects are established correctly and monitor costs charged to projects and cost centers. Ensure required journal entires are generated and resolve any discrepancies. Track project margin and report against margin targets.
- FORECASTING - coordinate yearly revenue and subcontractor forecast processes and coordinate review calls with CE Management and Business Development to establish and align forecasts.
- REPORTING
- CURRENT WORKING VIEW (CWV) - maintain the current working view database and coordinate reviews with CE Management to ensure actual and forecasted revenue is accurate. Review new opportunities submitted by Sales with CE management for Professional Services opportunities. Apply financial and cost updates to projects from data obtained from reports/systems.
- OPS REVIEW - coordinate monthly OPS Review package preparation and status calls for regional teams. Create charts reporting monthly and year-to-date results for revenue/cost/margin status, forecast updates, subcontractor status, departmental utilization, etc.
- LAB INVENTORY - coordinate lab asset inventory management. Maintain lab inventory and control equipment sharing process between CE teams.
- BUDGETING
- SUBCONTRACTORS - meet with CE Management/Delivery/Subcontractors quarterly to determine forecast. Generate quarterly purchase orders. Approve subcontractor hours charged weekly and approve bi-weekly/monthly invoicing.
- OPEX - plan and confirm OPEX budget for CE team. Generate approved internal and external purchase orders.
- CAPEX - plan and control CAPEX budget for CE team. Generate approved CAPEX requests via CAPEX workflow tool/process. Generate internal and external purchase orders.
Your skills and experience
You have:
- A degree in Accounting or related field and at least 4 years practical work experience
- Knowledge of SAP, SalesForce, and Blue Planet
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access Database, and Power Point
- Knowledge of Power Bi
- Knowledge of SRM
- Knowledge of ELF
- Knowledge of ALPIM
- Knowledge of Lawson
