THE POSITION
One of the most critical roles in a successful project with our Customers is the Customer Project Engineer. The customer project engineer will be on-site at the customer location in SE Michigan and will be the primary point of contact for the project manager, technical team, and customer for the project. Applicants have the opportunity to strengthen stakeholder collaboration by being an ambassador of Continental onsite at our customer supporting our project teams.
Core Responsibilities:• Liaison between Continental Project Team and Customer Engineering.• Onsite and direct vehicle updating and troubleshooting• Supporting Customer Engineering Leads• Documenting of open issues related to customer product development and support driving open issues to closure• Supporting vehicle launch at customer manufacturing facilities• Supporting vehicle prototype build at local prototype facilities- including vehicle troubleshooting, coordinate part delivery, part re-flashing, and validation of system operation (vehicle signoffs)• Act as first line of contact for issues identified in development and early launch vehicles
Additional Responsibilities:• Support Bench updates with software updates• Technical trouble shooting through initial analysis and data acquisition of anomalies or performance gaps• Coordination of system and software releases for prototype vehicle updates• Support Project Management for performing selective testing in vehicle or bench• Oversee Customer Vehicle development needs and interfaces with Continental Project Teams (builds, retrofits, reflashing, etc)• Oversee reflash activities at customer manufacturing facilities

Job Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Engineering Sciences, Electrical Engineering or Equivalent• 2-5 years of Automotive experience in Engineering • Highly motivated • High Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint) • Proficient with data acquisition tools and systems• Familiarity with electronic modules• Fluency in English- Strong written and verbal communication skills• Demonstrates leadership and drive• Exhibits organizational skills• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • 5-7years Automotive experience in Engineering or Customer project teams • Experience with OEM Customer Requirements (GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, etc.)• Exposure to / experience with Project Management activities in the Automotive Industry• Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic tools• Intercultural experience or experience with international project teams• Experience with OEM product development lifecycle and release process• Experience in electronic modules for automotive applications
