Maesa is currently seeking to hire a Customer Sales Strategy Senior Manager to support our growing portfolio of National Brands, including Kristin Ess Hair, TPH, and other brands to be added in the future.
Pay Range: $115,000/yr - $140,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Senior Director, National Accounts and Customer Strategy, this role offers the opportunity to be part of a passionate group of individuals who love building some of the most exciting and fastest growing beauty brands at retail. The Senior Customer Strategy Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the business associated with developing the National Brand Customer Strategy for Maesa. This position will require the individual to build strong relationships with both our Customer Development and respective internal partners while developing & implementing marketplace shaping business strategy that drives profitable business performance. The candidate will be responsible for regular management of the 4Ps across the market, ensures internal/external alignment, & grows/maintains relationships with key stakeholders. The candidate also participates in special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Business Planning
- Leads business planning process by developing & utilizing analytics & insights to drive trade marketing strategy, preparing timelines, process communication, and conducting collaborative planning cycles with customer teams & brands alike
- Communicates & coordinates key strategies, insights, and initiatives between field and internal teams as well as gains alignment across a matrix environment to support goal achievement.
- Lead brand trade investment and segment strategy across all National Brands.
- Develops and manages promotional programs, such as price promotion, special packs, &/or in-store displays, to support customer sales, while monitoring performance to track and report results.
- Responsible for development of a yearly learning plan to shape short and long-term innovation & business strategies and commercialize best in class recommendations to achieve category leadership.
- Incorporates new/evolving tools, technology, and capabilities to support/enhance customer business planning.
Analytics
- Provides leadership around development, evaluation, & implementation of the 4Ps by evaluating trends, developing insights, & translates findings to drive business performance improvement across business.
- Influences business processes and requirements related to pricing, trade promotions, category management, & inventory management including cross-functional collaboration with marketing, supply chain, trade, and finance on forecasting to sales input across responsible brands.
- Develops and ensures the execution of all trade related expenses & activities to improve P&L performance and partners with internal team members to develop and execute the revenue growth management strategies to drive topline and bottom-line growth.
- Creates & influences assortment & merchandising recommendations.
- Leads syndicated data & newly developed consensus roll out processes.
Customer Team Engagement
- Coordinates & conducts regular communication sessions between internal cross functional and sales teams to ensure alignment and accountability on forecast attainment, budget, business planning, and trade objectives with immediacy via a Customer Service based model.
- Acts as an intermediary between the Customer Development Team & internal organization.
- Provides support and insight for retailer business & new item reviews.
- Ensures execution of plans through regular communication & interaction with the customer team.

- May be assigned 1 or more direct reports; when people are assigned, is accountable for implementation of talent management processes and developmental coaching.
Qualifications:
- 4 year degree required.
- 5+ years prior experience in consumer package goods required.
- Prior experience in direct customer sales, business analytics, shopper insights, category design, and/or customer marketing required.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, complex matrix, & constantly changing environment.
- Ability to influence decision-makers up and down two or more levels, with and without direct authority, to ensure a fully-aligned customer/company business plan.
- Ability to devise and present persuasive presentations to a variety of key decision makers based on data-driven insights and facts, to gain support for business strategies and/or initiatives.
- Has a passion for Beauty
- Ability to develop and oversee the execution of project plans and to implement, execute and draw conclusions from a variety of customer, shopper and category studies.
- Ability and passion to coach and develop reporting and non-reporting team members.
- Ability to identify and assess risk and prioritize competing demands.
- Demonstrate effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Previous experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
