Healthcare Customer Service Representative serves as communication resource for Kaiser Permanente Washington members, staff and medical teams accessing services through a centralized call center. This includes answering and directing calls in a timely, accurate and professional manner. Understanding the role of overhead paging systems and responding to code calls while being proficient in all team functions.

Responsibilities:

May be responsible for one or more of the following:
  • Answer multiple incoming phone lines
  • Experience with heavy call volume and rapid response time during normal business hours
  • Obtain necessary information and transfers callers to correct extensions
  • Answer two dedicated paging lines to manage physician on-call requests
  • Document paging and hospice calls to meet compliance standards
  • Provide information to callers as appropriate
  • Respond quickly and accurately to emergency situations
  • Dispatching of emergency personnel/emergency code calls
  • Perform overhead paging as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational data
  • Update and maintain resource manuals
  • Perform special projects as required
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. College degree preferred
  • 3+ years related work experience helpful
  • Familiarity with healthcare call center operations helpful but not required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with high flexibility and rapid response time
  • Detail oriented, exceptional organizational and follow-through skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability
  • Outstanding written/verbal communication skills, including grammatical/spelling accuracy
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to prioritize and demonstrate excellent time management
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
