About the Role
Donegal Insurance Group has an opening for a Customer Service Representative in our Personal Lines Underwriting department. The main function of the Customer Service team is to effectively assist the Underwriting team to achieve profitable underwriting results and assist in maintaining superior customer relationships as well as meeting established production goals.
Starting Pay: The pay range for this position is $17.00 to $18.00 per hour. The specific offer will vary based on applicant’s education, qualifications, professional experience, skills, abilities, and any applicable designations/certifications. The posted pay range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience. The pay range may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
The base pay is just one component of Donegal’s total compensation package for employees. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Accurately process business utilizing established guidelines
- Accurately educate customers about insurance products offered at Donegal
- Accurately communicate recorded information to the internal and/or external clients
- Accurately research underwriting information
- Accurately complete assigned tasks on a timely basis
- Efficiently determine and request the appropriate underwriting support documentation needed for each account
- Provide timely, courteous, and efficient customer service to internal and external clients
- Provide timely, courteous, and efficient assistance to other departments as needed
- Clearly demonstrate commitment to team goals and objectives
- Willingly work required overtime to meet established production goals
- Adhere to all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations
- Comply with policies and directives outlined in the company handbook
- Coordinate work with others in support of department and company goals and objectives
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous insurance or related work experience
- Property and Casualty Agent’s License preferred
- High school or GED equivalent
