Job Description

Indmar Marine Engines is looking for an experienced Customer Service Technician to join our Customer Service team. The ideal candidate must have a strong mechanical background in marine, automotive or industrial engine maintenance with equally strong skills in the area of customer service. Candidates should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook & Word) and experience with an ERP system is preferred. The Customer Service Technician is responsible for answering calls, troubleshooting problems, processing orders, and fulfilling customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction. Below is a complete list of job responsibilities and required skills.

This full-time position offers a starting rate of $18.00 - 20.00/hour depending upon experience with a consistent daytime schedule. Benefits include health insurance, paid holidays, paid time off and a retirement savings plan with a company match. Work hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. Eligible for a $40.00 weekly attendance bonus.

Candidate must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. If selected, must complete pre-employment screenings which include a drug and background check. Indmar is an equal opportunity employer.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answers incoming calls to assist OEM, dealer and end user customers with technical, parts and warranty issues.
  • Provide input with regard to mechanical repairs to inboard marine engines in-house or in the field.
  • Process orders, transfers and enter warranty information using ERP system.
  • Communicate regularly with the point of contact at registered dealerships ensuring all issues are resolved timely and efficiently.
  • Some travel to dealerships is required in the off season


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Strong mechanical background with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair engines.
  • Ability to read and understand parts books, service manuals and electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think and work their way through difficult projects or problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and through written communication.
  • Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with ERP system is desired.
  • Must be motivated with the ability to work effectively with little supervision and oversight.
  • Must work well within a small team/department.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years direct engine experience in a manufacturing or related environment.
  • Previous experience in a customer service related role preferred.

  • $18.00 - 20.00 per hour depending upon experience
