Customer Solutions Architect
Job Description
We have two main phases for a customer, Build and Maintain. In the Build phase, the customer works with Logicworks to design technical solutions based on their business needs, modernizing aging systems or retiring systems that are deprecated. The customer engages with us during the Build phase during transformation and growth. In the Maintain phase, Logicworks is working with the customer to ensure uptime and security compliance and adjust the systems at the immediate customer's request. We engage with the customer during the Maintain phase to maintain system operations.
The role of the Customer Solutions Architect is to provide technical continuity for consultative guidance during the customer's partnership with Logicworks. To maintain consistency and responsibility the SA will be assigned to accounts that they will track and engage with. The SA will be required to have executive-level conversations with customers regarding the direction of their business's technology and the issues of their environments, participate in problem-solving and architecting with the MS team, and influence the product team with direct feedback from customers. This role requires strong customer advocacy to extend the customer's voice within Logicworks.
Job Responsibilities
The SA will work across multiple departments including Account Executives, Professional Services, Managed Services, and influence other departments including Product, FinOps, and Marketing.
Account Executives
- Participate in account planning and ongoing management of the customer's roadmap
- Participate in presales engagements, including onsite visits
- Track new opportunities and proactive upsells
Professional Services
- Guide delivery teams and communicate nuances of the customer's environment or organization and give the customer consistency going from the presales process to the managed service engagement
- Identify gaps in strategic account opportunities and existing practices to influence the Logicworks leadership direction
- Contribute to or lead account design review meetings with delivery solution architects
- Contribute to or lead the creation of cloud assessment business cases for the customer
- Attend steering activities during engagements
Managed Services
- Be the accounts architectural point of contact after PS projects and participate in PS to MS handoff
- Have an awareness of up-to-date account issues and tickets
- Attend SDM and customer meetings as needed to provide ongoing consultative, technical guidance and curation of the customer's backlog
- Contribute to the backlog and groom backlog tasks. Participate in customer-facing backlog grooming
Product
- Assist with the tuning of customers' environments
- Provide customer feedback and request to contribute to product development
FinOps
- Provide context around cost savings and presentations
Marketing
- Create blog posts and case studies highlighting their accounts
What We Generally Look For
- BA/BS Degree in a relevant field plus 4 years of experience, or a MS degree plus 2 years of experience, or a Ph.D and one year of experience, or 10 years of experience without a degree
- 5+ years of experience architecting, implementing, and operating environments on AWS and/or Azure
- Experience working in a customer-facing presales and/or post-sales delivery function interfacing with key business stakeholders to achieve technology-based solutions and outcomes
- The ability to parse out business requirements and derive technology recommendations
- Ability to assess and align business and technical strategy with customer needs
- Solid understanding of designing cloud-native environments according to AWS's Well-Architected Framework
- Ability to travel up to 10% (conditions permitting)
What Techie Attributes We Look For
- Associate-level AWS certification(s) and/or AZ-100 level certifications
- Understanding of containerization & virtualization technologies; e.g Kubernetes, Docker
- Understanding of IAAS / PAAS / SAAS platforms; e.g. EC2, VMs, etc.
- Understanding IaC tools; e.g. Puppet, Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform
- Understanding of different Disaster Recovery and data protection principles
Nice-to-Have Techie Attributes
- Knowledge of application lifecycle (CI/CD)
- Experience with compliance standards (SOC2, HIPAA, PCI DSS)
- Experience with project management methodologies (Waterfall, Scrum)
- Experience with Microsoft Windows environments (e.g., domain controllers, file shares)
- AWS and/or Azure Professional level certifications
- Networking Certificates (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, AWS Advanced Networking Certificate, Azure Network Engineer Associate)
- Security Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security, Microsoft Azure Security Technologies, CompTIA Security+)
