Group/Division

The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

This specific opportunity will be located in Boise, ID.

As a part of the GSS team, the Customer Support Engineer (CSE) provides escalated support (higher echelon maintenance) to customers with semiconductor capital equipment. The CSE will work at customer sites to support customer needs. This function is at the absolute forefront of semiconductor technology at a market leading company, so you will be expected to learn quickly, think outside of the box, develop creative solutions to problems, troubleshoot without a manual and stay committed to process improvement.

If you enjoy repairing capital equipment, automotive or electronic equipment, this opportunity could be the right fit for you. Hands-on electromechanical experience is preferred.

The candidate selected will:

  • Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance work of KLA inspection & metrology tools at customer sites
  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting and repair daily
  • Understand basic equipment performance indicators
  • Be self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow
  • Exercise interpersonal skills to work both autonomously and with a team
  • Be flexible to travel up to 30% - possible international travel

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree 2-3 years' experience repairing electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, optical or digital imaging systems, avionics, or radar equipment
  • Associate degree with a technical focus + 3-5 years' experience
  • Military and veterans with technical MOS training encouraged to apply (Avionics, Electronics, Nuclear, etc.)
