Customer Support Representative - Paving Products
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Promote and sell Caterpillar Paving parts and company service capabilities; inspect customer equipment; develop proposals and estimates; prepare and deliver quotations; develop and sell annual maintenance contracts
- Provide application, repair, and operational assistance on Pavers, Cold Planers, Reclaimers, and Asphalt Compactors
- Serve as the technical training instructor for the Paving Product line (Pavers, Mills, Compactors)
- Lead NPA (New Product Introduction) and FF (Field Follow) project with CAT and cascade that information to the rest of the organization as needed
- Develop Web Based content to assist with various learning needs for the Paving Product Line (sales, technical, parts etc.)
- Continue with the LANDesk ticket distribution list to help with Paving tickets when possible
- Assist with the creation of technical hot topics and Ziegler service letters for issues found in the field
- Perform new machine start-ups, equipment demonstrations, and formal customer training
- Develop Parts programs to encourage winter season rebuilds
- Work closely with the Service Writer and Service Manager to open and close work orders, review work orders for accuracy, and manage parts and labor charges
- Maintain and keep current customer equipment inventory using customer relationship management tool
- Stay up to date with new products and developments that are relevant to our customers
- Maintain good customer relations; intercede to solve problems and disputes; look for ways to enhance customer relations
- Communicate and work closely with Sales, Service, Parts and Caterpillar personnel to ensure customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required
- 2 or 4 year degree is preferred, but not required depending upon the level of experience
- 2+ years of outside sales experience in the asphalt paving and milling field preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude & strong familiarity of the asphalt paving and milling industry and equipment
- Excellent technical, communication and customer service skills
- Clean driving record

Travel:
Up to 30% travel
Minimum Physical Requirements:
- Push/pull up to 10 lbs
- Lift/carry up to 30 lbs
- Lift bulky objects
- Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching
- Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
