Job Description

About Us:

About Cron

Cron's mission is nothing short of building the time layer for the workplace of the future. We're starting by building the next-generation calendar for professionals and teams, have great momentum, and recently joined forces with Notion.

If you’ve ever shared feedback, or DMed us — you know that Cron builds for and with its users. 🧡

As the number of these conversations grows, we’re looking for our first CX Specialist to build out this bond and join our small team of A+ people. You’ll operate at the frontline, bridging Cron users and our engineering/product team.

Cron x Notion

Cron and Notion have a lot in common. We share a sense of craft and an overlapping base of passionate users. Notion is where you keep your life and work organized, and Cron is how you keep your day on track. We’re excited to support the small and mighty Cron team with Notion’s resources. Cron will continue as a separate app as we build a shared vision and brand — you’ll join Notion to work on the Cron team.

About Notion

We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.

We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like Pixar, Mitsubishi, Figma, Plaid, Match Group, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.

About The Role:

As a small team, we work in a highly collaborative environment and you'll have the opportunity to participate in every part of the business from idea to production. You’ll have more contact with our users than anyone else at Cron — your input and synthesis will deeply impact our product roadmap.

Impact: Build the foundation and shape customer experience practices, team, and company culture.

Excellence: Practice your craft with other ICs in a well-organized, fast-paced environment.

Ownership: Influence the direction of product and strategy — we care about your opinions.

What You'll Achieve:
  • Process, synthesize, and respond to user feedback. You’ll own our communication channels and triage user feedback, having a huge impact on our product roadmap and user experience. You’ll regularly share and discuss findings with our product and engineering teams. When possible, you’ll suggest ways to handle user feedback more efficiently.
  • Investigate, reproduce, and close loops on bugs. As the primary time management tool for our users, we’re held to the highest standards. You’ll work in tight feedback loops with our engineering team and engage users for the full bug lifecycle, from reports to verifying bug fixes.
  • Build the Cron knowledge base. You’ll help shape our public docs with user guides, FAQs, and pro tips.
  • Grow and engage the Cron community. You’ll post pro tips on Twitter, share product demos, conduct product research, and ensure VIP users have a polished experience.
  • Self-direct your work. You'll have autonomy and responsibility because we are all individual contributors. You’ll make judgment calls on which issues and projects to prioritize as you triage feedback.
  • Explore interesting conversations and make new friends. Our users are awesome. Cron is the daily calendar for founders of the world’s fastest-growing startups, executives at leading public companies, and students around the world. You’ll enjoy talking to our users and come away with new friends. You speak on behalf of Cron!
Skills You'll Need to Bring:

You’re someone who takes pride in teaching and values community. We don't require formal qualifications but do value learning — especially from one another. We are looking for someone that feels a sense of duty to our users.

  • Clear, compassionate communicator. You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You get satisfaction from understanding and solving user problems. We’ll count on you to interface with our users, synthesize your conversations, and relay key learnings back to the team during our daily stand-ups. We manage user communication with Front, Slack, Linear, and Notion — most of your communication will be asynchronous. That said, you’re comfortable jumping on quick Zoom calls with our users when appropriate.
  • Curious, quick learning, and creative. We don't expect you to have experience working with Cron users, but to learn and be productive quickly. Owning, scaling, and implementing systems to address hundreds of threads per week across email and Twitter excites you. You develop fluency in software tools quickly and you love keyboard shortcuts. You think of creative workarounds if you can’t solve user requests directly within Cron. If you can’t answer something on your own, you feel comfortable asking your teammates. Coding experience is not necessary. You have a basic understanding of programming concepts (e.g. APIs) and popular SaaS tools (e.g. Notion).
  • Highly productive systems-thinker. You’re a self-starter. You have a bias towards action and feel comfortable independently problem-solving. When possible, you find ways to generalize your work so that it scales. You know when to be proactive, and when to be reactive. You have your eyes peeled for trends. You’re comfortable triaging live inboxes, parallel-processing tasks, and picking up projects right where you left off.
  • Versatile, adaptable, and patient. You enjoy becoming an expert in multiple disciplines and sharing your expertise with others. You are an investigator who doesn’t give up easily. You get to the root of any question, even if it’s initially vague. Uncovering and reproducing bugs across multiple platforms (desktop, web, mobile) is a fun challenge for you. You think incrementally, and view every user conversation as a way to improve our customer experience. You assume the best in people.
  • Attention to detail while pragmatic. You strive for no typos and remain low-ego as you help our users navigate their schedules with Cron.
  • Interested in productivity apps/systems. You might use your calendar to time block, try out Chrome extensions, configure custom app launchers, or self-optimize in other ways.
  • Good heart. We don't tolerate jerks and are generally just friendly people.

Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at Notion.
