Cyber Range Infrastructure Support Specialist

As a Security Consultant you will be a key advisor for IBM’s clients analyzing business requirements to design and implement the best security solutions for their needs. You will apply your technical skills to find the balance between enabling and securing the client’s organization with the cognitive solutions that are making IBM the fastest growing enterprise security business in the world.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Cyber Range Infrastructure Support Specialist you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Cyber Range that include testing implementing and deploying cyber systems or networks and their infrastructure hardware & software. Duties include configuring servers and computers systems installing software and system patches generating compliance artifacts and integrating systems. Supporting Audio-Visual (AV) systems which include content management systems and AV routing technologies like Crestron Purple etc. Work with outside vendors for contracts and maintenance. Debug and troubleshoot issues in a customer-facing environment. This is a hybrid but primarily in-office role in our Washington D.C. IBM Center for Government Cybersecurity location.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Knowledge

• Operating Systems (i.e. MacOS Windows and Linux)
• Virtualization (i.e. VMWare AWS OpenStack)
• Networking

• IT hardware troubleshooting
• Knowledge of system security and data backup and recovery
• Curiosity for security infrastructure and audio/visual components

Skills

• System administration
• Network administration network connectivity & network troubleshooting (LAN Wireless)
• Excellent communications skills

Experience

• 3+ years experience in each of the following (could be concurrent but experience must be had in each of these 3 skillsets):
  • System Administration
  • Network Administration
  • Hardware Management

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Knowledge

• Audio Visual content management systems such as Purple or Oblong
• Video routing systems such as Crestron

Skills

• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude

Experience

• 5+ years of cloud computing (e.g. SaaS PaaS IaaS)
• Conducting audio/visual operations such as video/eSports-streaming podcasts etc.
• Automation and scripting of IT infrastructure
