What you need to know about the role:

The Cyber Security Operations Director will oversee PayPal's 24/7 Cyber Defense Centers (CDC) across the globe. This exceptional team player will oversee a team of highly skilled cyber security professionals and will serve as an escalation point for the local team leads for high priority incidents. A successful candidate will have a proven track record in maturing Security Operation Centers in highly complex environments at scale.

Meet our team:

CDC monitors PayPal against millions of attacks on a daily basis. The individual in this role will be playing a key role in ensuring that we provide timely response to threats and protect our brand.

Your way to impact:

• Work closely with the local CDC managers across multiple offices in responding to cyber threats
• Act as incident commander during high priority incidents Serve as an escalation point and as a subject matter resource (SMR) in security monitoring, incident response, and incident management
• Manage security operations projects, including process improvement and technology investment
• Pursue automated security flows with SecOps' dedicated threat engineering team Develop, guide, and oversee PayPal's high-performing Security Operation Center staff

What do you need to bring:

• 15 years of experience in security operations, detection, incident response, and threat intelligence, with at least 10 years in a leadership role
• Prior experience as a global SOC manager, supporting globally distributed organizations, including demonstrated experience overseeing technical response teams while prioritizing time-sensitive tasks
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and work with various stakeholders across the organization on a global scale
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Prior financial services experience - Preferred
