Cyber Security Systems Engineer
Job Description
Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is currently seeking to hire a Cyber Security Engineer. The desired candidate will work in the following areas:
Designs, tests and implements state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design. Handles a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research.
Job Requirements
Specifically, the candidate will perform the following type of activities:
- Analyze concept of operations and cybersecurity/anti-tamper requirements to propose, design, develop, and implement security/protection controls in compliance with government furnished implementation guides
- Analyze existing system security architecture
- Architect a system that is resistant to tampering and cyber-attacks
- Implement security improvements/designs through assessment an evaluation of industry and Department of Defense (DoD) standards and trends
- Develop technical documentation to document trades studies, system designs, analysis, and results related to systems security
- Develop standards and improvement processes for assessing, designing, implementing, and verifying security requirements
- Interface with management to communicate technical and program status
- Support assessment of system cybersecurity controlcompliance
- Experience developing cybersecurity architectures
- Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for both IC (ICD 503) and DoD (DoDI 8510.01) communities
- Knowledge of Program Protection and OPSEC or Key Management
- Understanding of Anti-Tamper and TEMPEST standards and how these relate to cybersecurity
- Basic /Advanced Systems Administration in major COTS SW platforms
- Ability and comfort to interface with all levels of employees and management
- Works well in a team environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and analytic skills
- Active DoD Secret Clearance, Top Secret Clearance is desired.
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering or computer science discipline and a minimum ofseven (7) years of engineering, cybersecurity/anti-tamper engineering, security and cyber threat analysis, security systems engineering, cyber systems architecture development
- Must have proven experience in communicating with all levels of peers, management.
- Must have demonstrated experience in solving technical problems independently with minimal supervision.
