Job Description
Maintains a Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system based architecture for the Distributed Training System Simulation & Stimulation (DTS Sim/Stim) to support Command Control Battle Management Communications (C2BMC) Warfighter training. Work location is at the Aviation & Missile Center (AvMC) on Redstone Arsenal, AL
Performs administration, monitoring, communications security, and cyber security and defense functions. Maintain and utilize standard operating procedures required to support cyber security capabilities. Responsible for gathering metrics, reporting and updating incidents, and maintaining network configuration management. Support Computer Network Defense Service Provider (CNDSP) and MDA/USSTRATCOM Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) concerning security incident handling requirements IAW CJCS publications, MDA Designated Approving Authority (DAA) direction, and other applicable authority.
Conduct Security Engineering IAW best security practices and guidelines provided in the DoD 8500.2, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and National Institute of Standards and Technology. Develop & sustain the system architecture with updates and Cyber Security Controls. Maintain drawings IAW the Configuration Management baseline. Plan for and ensure that changes and modifications made to the security architecture are evaluated, tested, and captured in architecture, design, test, and Risk Management Framework documentation.
Plan, manage, maintain, and support RMF and MDA Classified Connectivity accreditation activities as required
Support SAV and CVT activities conducted by the Government. Support DISA STIG and Government/CVT special purpose Cyber Vulnerabilities Assessment Tool testing.
Support the maintenance and sustainment of the DTS Sim/Stim supporting daily training while interfacing with the Command Control Battle Management Communications system (C2BMC) and the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Systems Trainer (GST. Must be able to work well within a small team collaborating with Cyber Security and Integration team members. The individual will work closely with a mission-focused team that plans, conducts, and supports missile defense training events for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), the Warfighter, and other missile defense stakeholders. Some events may feature Warfighter Operator-In-The-Loop (OITL) participation, and include developmental missile defense system elements or simulations.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 4-6 years experience
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification
- Have at least one Operating System certification (e.g. Linux+ (Preferred), LPIC, RHCSA, RHCE, Windows (allowed)).
- Ability to obtain Linux+ within 6 months of hire
- Working knowledge of DoD security policies and procedures
- Active DOD Secret security clearance
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with eMass navigation and system input
- Ability to navigate Linux directory structure, file system, etc.
- Knowledge of cyber requirements, including updates, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Possess a working knowledge of DoD security policies and procedures. Knowledge of missile defense concepts of operation, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and Integrated Missile Defense (IMD) system architectures. Previous experience with the Missile Defense Agency, operations center, or missile defense system such as (GFC or C2BMC).
