Program Description
This program provides SETA (Systems Engineering Technical Advisor) & SE&I (Systems Engineering & Integration) services to an IC customer with a focus on acquisition and operations of a system providing assured space communications and supporting IT infrastructure. The contract support is part of the customer core team focused on all aspects of the systems life cycle including conops development, capturing requirements, working with developers to deliver capability, testing to ensure capabilities meet requirements, transition to operations and operations support. The program also supports innovations/technology development, provides acquisition and project management support to government program managers and IT information assurance security support.This Cyber Systems Engineering position will be responsible for working with all the customer's acquisition programs, both in the development and O&M phases, to ensure systems are being developed and operated with cyber security in mind. The position will be responsible for working with higher level cyber groups to understand and coordinate broader concerns, helping to relate how local mission systems might be affected and ensure any mitigation steps are identified, put in place and executed. This position will be responsible for participating in agency level cyber policy updates and reviews to ensure the customer's equities are considered and made aware of any impacts. Provides feedback to design engineers and evaluates end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Working as expert, conducts research and evaluates technical performance of software products and overall segments and systems. Ensures products and systems comply with requirements and government information assurance and cyber security standards and practices through formal verification methods. Verifies/validates systems with specific emphasis on network operations and cyber warfare tactics, techniques, and procedures focused on the threat to information networks. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Prepares assessments and cyber threat profiles of current and planned products based on sophisticated testing, research, and analysis. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they verify/validate the requirements. Develops and maintains analytical procedures to meet changing requirements. Produces high-quality papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings for senior US government intelligence and operations officials.
Qualifications
- 10 to 12 years with BS or 8 to 10 years with MS or 5 to 7 years with a PHD.
- 4 years of relevant experience in an RF space communications development/acquisition program can be substituted)
- Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Poly.
- Technical BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree (Cybersecurity, Info Systems, etc.).
- Prior cybersecurity experience evaluating threats and developing requirements to mitigate.
- The ability to work well within a team of engineers
- Demonstrated success in working with government customers.
Desired
- 5 years of experience with Cybersecurity and Systems Engineering experience working with space-based systems.
- BS in Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science.
- Prior experience as a SETA with NUO IC agency customer working with cyber requirements and other related readiness processes.
- Prior experience detecting and dealing with cyber threats, using systems designed for threat detection.
- Prior agile development experience.
