JMN is part of the National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC). Research and development programs focus on tools and services to enhance cyber operations.

Job Description: The engineer will provide engineering support for design, deployment, and execution of virtual cyber events for DoD and Federal Government customers. The person will support engineering and maintenance activities within a customer mission lab and within a closed-loop, distributed architecture of more than fifty sites. The person will work in a dynamic team environment, working with Government POCs, event participants, team leadership and staff. The engineer will support the full systems engineering life-cycle. There are limited travel requirements for this position.

Required Skills/Experience

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with IT systems, cybersecurity practices and protocols, networking access and security, and information system management and administration.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code with the Ansible Automation Platform

• Well versed in VMware vSphere administration and the server building process within these environments.

• Experience in the IT industry within Configuration Management, Change/Release/Build Management, System Administration, Support and Maintenance of RHEL, Solaris, HP-UX, Oracle Linux, CentOS and the automation of builds and deployments through Ansible and other automation technologies. Familiar with cloud tools and technologies.

• Experience using cyber security tools to monitor and analyze the environment.

• Experience with LAN/WAN, switches, routers, set-up, configuring, and maintenance of VMware ESX and ESXi virtual/cloud hypervisor environments; and blade servers.

• Operational military experience supporting DoD cyber mission forces. Understanding of cyber intelligence and its application to operations.

• Strong analytic abilities and meticulous and careful in their work

• Independent thinker capable of working proficiently independently as well as within a team.

• Active TS//SCI Security Clearance

• Must be located at or near Huntsville, AL or be willing to relocate.

• US Citizen/US Resident required with active TS Security Clearance

Preferred Certifications

• IAT Level II Security Certifications (e.g., Security + CE, CISSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCN)

• Scripting languages / Certification: Certified Associate in Python Programming (PCAP), Certified Professional in Python Programming (PCPP), ASP.Net, Javascript, PowerShell

• Windows/Linux experience and associated certifications

• Networking services such as data protection (backup and systems security), Microsoft Windows 2012/2016 Active Directory (to include Group Policy management), WSUS, DHCP, DNS, Exchange

• Traffic generation experience: Breaking point, Lariat, SKAION

• DoD Advanced IT and Security training

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
