Cyber Transport Specialist
Job Description
The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Nuclear Enterprise Support Directorate (NE) performs multidisciplinary assessments to identify vulnerabilities in critical systems, networks, and architecture that could be exploited well below the level of armed conflict by state or non-state threat networks or could be significantly impacted by natural or accidental hazardous events.
Cyber Transport Specialists will identify all aspects of communications-related (i.e., DoD data voice networks, transmission systems, Defense Information Systems Network (DISN), and other DoD and Commercial terrestrial and satellite communications systems and networks) vulnerabilities, increase the customer's awareness of potential vulnerabilities and impacts of communications on mission execution capability, and provide recommendations to mitigate or eliminate identified vulnerabilities.
Required Qualifications:
- A current or recent DoD Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI access
- Able to adhere to CDC recommended immunizations for worldwide deployment, able to travel on short notice, work non-standard hours and take on-call duty Accept worldwide deployments, including to high threat permissive areas presenting some risks to personal safety
- Obtain and maintain a valid passport
- Capable of operating in all operational and physical environments and work collaboratively with USG military and/or civilian personnel
- Effective oral and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience conducting vulnerability assessments
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity standards, industry standards, and best practices
- Knowledge, training, and experience related to DoD and commercial terrestrial and satellite communications systems and networks
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to all audiences; ability to advise clients on the secure design of critical assets and infrastructure
