Cybersecurity and Network Manager

***Position 100% remote within the state of Texas***

The Manager of Cybersecurity Architecture and Engineering is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Cybersecurity and Network Teams within the Cook Children's Information Security Office. Cybersecurity supports the CCHCS mission through the use of information security tools and technologies that detect, prevent or mitigate threats to confidentiality, integrity and/or availability of information resources. In addition to mentoring, coaching and developing staff members, the Manager will proactively identify threats and seek out opportunities to architect and engineer new risk mitigation strategies that are not only secure but also scalable, sustainable and cost-effective. The Manager will use administrative and technical controls to enforce compliance with CCHCS policies as well as guidelines and standards set forth by the Information Security Office. He/she will be responsible for reporting key performance indicators that will be used to gauge the effectiveness of security controls and foster an environment of continuous process improvement. In addition to Cybersecurity, the Manager will manage all efforts related to planning, managing, and coordination of the design, installation, security, connectivity and recovery of network systems to ensure the stable and secure operation of the organizations data communications (LAN, WAN, wired, and wireless) as well as cybersecurity related applications/equipment such as application and network firewalls. These responsibilities includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links. The Manager will also schedule and direct the activities of a team of cybersecurity and network specialists to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data networks as well as resolve end user connectivity, hardware, and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion. Responsible for ensuring that the enterprise has the capability to maintain high levels of network performance and reliability in a cost effective manner.

Responsibilities include:

Configures, tests, and maintains LAN/WAN equipment and related services. Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network problems. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks. Assist in preparation of budgetary proposals and technical solutions. Analyze and rectify complex faults on the network to meet defined service levels. Support network investigation/performance routines to ensure network availability. Perform complex configuration changes. Maintain and support the CCHCS LAN/WAN environment. Daily maintenance and problem resolution, operating system patches and software. Upgrades, and routine hardware configuration. Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation. Obtain and maintain required certifications. Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or other related field.
• 10 years of professional experience working with LAN/WAN network technologies, information security programs, regulations such as HIPAA, PCI/DSS.
• Experience with technologies including but not limited to Data Loss Prevention, Threat Information Exchange, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, Virtual Private Networks, Operating Systems and Group Policy Objects.
• Security Information Event Monitoring, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems.
• Antivirus, Encryption, and Threat Detection/Correlation Engines.

Preferred Experience:

• Extensive experience in enterprise security architecture design.
• Extensive experience in enterprise security document creation.
• Experience in managing of staff of 3 to 10 individuals.
• Working technical knowledge of industry enterprise security solutions.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP and other network administration protocols.
