Cybersecurity Solutions Engineer Summary:

In order to address the most critical needs of our clients, RSM US LLP operates our Security, Privacy and Risk Consulting practice, comprised of more than 250 professionals dedicated exclusively to serving the cybersecurity needs of our clients. This group includes experienced consultants located throughout the United States and Canada, as well as our nearshore and offshore delivery centers, dedicated to helping clients prevent, detect, respond to and recover from security threats that may affect their critical systems and data. We serve a diverse client base within a variety of industries, and we are relied upon to provide expertise across the full suite of security and privacy capabilities. As part of this team, you are immersed in an environment where you are able to work directly with clients, helping advise, assess, implement and operate their critical cybersecurity solutions and associated operations.

We are seeking individuals with both broad and deep security engineering services experience and skills to join our team serving clients in a variety of industries and geographic locations. Successful candidates will have solid working knowledge of consulting, security engineering leading practices and consulting practice / strategy creation, understanding vendor offerings, leading vendor products and solutions, cloud technology trends and innovation as well as experience leveraging this knowledge to benefit organizations.

  • Design and deliver security engineering solutions based on leading vendor products and services for clients in a variety of industries
  • Architect, design, implement and support simple to complex enterprise security solutions for a variety of business use cases and requirements and guiding and mentoring clients through the entire process
  • Provide technical guidance to SOC and client teams about specific considerations and potential controls measures to deploy cybersecurity solutions at enterprise-scale
  • Provide leading practices and subject matter knowledge in a wide range of security engineering topics including, but not limited to IT asset, configuration, event, and vulnerability management, endpoint and data protection, and security operations (SecOps).
  • Identify potential security vulnerabilities or exposures that could pose a risk to clients' networks, systems or application

Basic qualifications for an Associate-level position include:
  • Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university by the time employment commences or prior relevant military / law enforcement experience
  • Computer science, information technology, information systems management, or other similar degrees preferably with a focus on information security
  • 3+ years previous cybersecurity project delivery experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have a naturally curious mindset and approach
  • Experience building and maturing security solutions and operations
  • Experience with security incident and event management (SIEM) tools such as Splunk, Exabeam, Securonix, MS Sentinel, Elastic, etc.
  • Experience with vulnerability tools such as: Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, Kenna, etc.
  • Experience endpoint detection and response tools such as: CrowdStrike, MS Defender, Sophos, etc.
  • Working knowledge of project management practices
  • Experience serving complex architectures and environments (cloud, on-prem or hybrid)
  • Ability to work with a variety of cybersecurity technologies and vendors including experience with various platforms such as SaaS, Agents/Agentless, micro services and others
  • Proven experience demonstrating industry best practices
  • Knowledge of typical behaviors of both malware and threat actors
  • Outstanding time management and multitasking skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Beneficial, but not required, qualifications for an Associate-level position include:
  • Experience with security orchestration and automated response (SOAR) tools such as: Demisto, Phantom, Forescout, etc.
  • Experience with Security Operations (SecOps) solutions such as ServiceNow
  • Experience with common cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience with threat intelligence tools such as Recorded Future and ThreatConnect
