Summary

This position is located at Montague Youth Center at Fort Cavazos, Texas.

This announcement is in conjunction with the Fort Cavazos NAF Human Resources Office's Family and MWR Recruiting Fair at the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC), Building 4819, on Wednesday, Apr 24th, 2024 from 9:00AM to 3:00PM (CST).

This announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies throughout the program. Management has the right to assign staff to locations as mission requires.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment or placement into the position.
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation. The Crime Control Act must be successfully completed and maintained.
  • Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
  • A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable).
  • Successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required.
  • May be subject to irregular hours, evening and or weekends.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check.

Qualifications

1. Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
2. Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
3. Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
4. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis.
5. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.
6. Possess and maintain a CDA/School-Age/Youth Credential (including Boys and Girls Clubs of America)/Army Youth Practicum
7. Possess 12 months of experience working in a related field

OR

1. Possess BA/BS degree with a major emphasis on ECE, Elementary Education, Child Development, Home Economics, Special Education or a related field.
2. Possess work experience directly related to the duties to be performed.
3. Ability to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
4. Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
5. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis.
6. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.

  • Applicants must be physically present at the hiring event in order to be interviewed as part of the hiring event. Applicants that do not attend the hiring event, may be referred to management at a later date if there are additional vacancies.

Application turn-in starts at 9:00AM to 11:00AM and interviews will be conducted during this event between 11:00AM to 3:00PM on Wednesday, Apr 24th, 2024 at the job fair site. If selected, the local HR Office may need the applicant to complete pre-employment consent forms, complete fingerprinting and/or schedule a physical prior to leaving the job fair.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials:
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses:
  • Incentives will not be paid.

  • Additional referrals may be made from this vacancy announcement for up to 90 days after the closing date.
