This position is located at the Middle School/Teen Program at Harrold Youth Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
This announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies throughout the program. Management has the right to assign staff to locations as mission requires.
This position is eligible for the NAF benefits package and leave accrual.
Requirements
Conditions of Employment
- Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment or placement into the position.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
- A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable).
- Successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required.
- Failure to achieve desired training with demonstrated competence may result in separation.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check.
- Position requires working with computers, peripherals, software and common hand and electrical tools.
- May be required to work irregular hours and weekends.
Qualifications
2. Be 18 years of age at time of employment.
3. Possess and maintain ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
4. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.
5. Possess knowledge and demonstrated skill in Microsoft Windows and Applications using the Internet (email, searching, web page design) and network computing.
6. Possess a professional certificate or higher related to computer science/information
technology, or 24 months of experience working in the related field.

Area of Consideration

This is an open continuous announcement to provide a ready pool of available applicants as needed. Applicants will be referred to selecting officials as vacancies occur.
- Thursday, 27 June 2024, applications must be received by 11:59 PM EST. Applications received by the initial cut-off date will be reviewed, and possibly referred to the Selecting Official prior to the closing date of this announcement. Subsequent referrals to the Hiring Manager will occur every two weeks thereafter based on management's need to fill positions.
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials:
- This is a pay-banded position.
- Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). - Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses:
- A $1,000 recruitment incentive when on-boarded, paid in a one lump-sum payment.
- Please note: If the employee leaves employment for any reason prior to remaining in their CYS Program Associate Technology Lab position for a full 12 months, the incentive must be paid back in full.
- A $1,000 retention award, after being on-board in the position for one (1) year with no pending disciplinary actions.
Other:
- This is a Regular Part-Time position with a minimum work week of 20 hours and eligible for benefits.
