Reporting to the Auto Material Damage Manager, the Damage Evaluator is an important member to our claims team. This role is responsible for reviewing estimates from appraisers and body shops to ensure they are following our estimating guidelines and write estimates from photos. Additionally, this role will negotiate settlements while adhering to company best claim practices and State compliance standards, while delivering Distinctive customer service to our educators.

Responsibilities
- Provide an extraordinary experience by adhering to strict response guidelines, claims handling guidelines and state compliance standards.
- Utilize estimating software and photos to evaluate, and when necessary, adjust the fair value of repairs.
- Determine the appropriate score of related auto damage to the loss.
- Build relationships with shops and holds advance discussions, including negotiations.
- Negotiate with repair facilities to assure a fair and reasonable outcome for each claim.
- Review all claims for supplemental damage to ensure they are related and settled at a fair value.
- Complete an Actual Cash Value evaluation and referral for vehicles determined to be a total loss.
- Develop and maintain a high level of auto technical knowledge.
Requirements
- HS diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 5 + years of related claims or technical experience.
- Good knowledge of CCC estimating software.
- Obtain and maintain state adjuster licenses, within 6 months of hire date.
- Maintain efficiency regarding regulation and compliance.
- Proactive and effective customer service and communication skills
- ICar and/or body shop training plus
- Guidewire systems knowledge a plus.

Work location is flexible if approved by the Company except that the position may not be performed remotely from NYC
