Unleash your analytical skills to define the future of how we serve our company. We are seeking a candidate with data analytics experience to assist in the support and expansion of the Amex Ethics Office Code of Conduct Reporting. This role requires an individual who has experience with developing and maintaining data infrastructure, including manipulation and processing, and is an expert in data visualization for reporting and dashboards. We are seeking a creative thinker who is able to work closely with data scientists to understand the insights extracted from complex data sets and create beautiful visualizations that communicate those insights in an accessible and polished manner. This position will be a part of the Amex Ethics Office within the General Counsel's Organization and plays a critical role in helping employees and the Company live up to the high ethical standards outlined in the Code of Conduct.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Work closely with technology partners to enhance the AEO Code of Conduct database, including identifying improvements and potential new data sources
  • Ensure data integrity by working closely with technology partners to debug components, identify fixes, and verify remediation of code defects
  • Draft user stories, conduct user acceptance testing, and post implementation validation
  • Refine existing processes to define, measure, and monitor key metrics
  • Perform hands-on development and testing of analytical dashboards and reports to track key metrics
  • Work closely with AEO Data Science Manager to review data sets and identify emerging trends, uncover new patterns, and generate data-driven visualizations that are effective in translating numbers into actionable insights
  • Assist in creating impactful and effective presentations for senior leaders (e.g., ensure the key messages to relay to business and functional executives are being presented clearly and concisely)
  • Professionally and discretely handle highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Help to apply change management techniques to identify gaps and opportunities in a change process

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics plus demonstrated skills in database management and process automation
  • Dashboard, visualization, and report development experience using Power BI, Tableau, or other similar report management tools
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, organize, and visualize large amounts of data
  • Experience with data visualization design and principles, including designing static, animated, and interactive visualizations
  • Proven understanding of chart types and when to apply them
  • Good understanding of how to translate statistics into simple, clear, and convincing graphs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Intermediate experience with SQL required
  • Process driven with great organizational skills and attention to detail and data
  • Strong analytical skills and motivation to learn new tools, skills, and methods
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships
  • Proactive and independent work approach
  • Strong communication skills; written, oral, and listening skills
  • Dynamic, fast learner who is highly organized and is both detail-oriented and able to maintain a big- picture perspective

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Rally and an understanding of Agile methodology and delivery concepts a plus
  • IT project management experience a plus
  • Python/R for data analysis and/or data automation a plus
  • Experience with Machine Learning a plus
  • Experience working with technologies partners
  • Superior written communication skills and attention to detail with reports and other written communications
  • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently at all levels of the organization
  • Detail oriented, with strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
  • Critical mindset, ability to recognize and correct potential flaws in data sets, reporting, and processes

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
