Job Description
In this role, you will have to:
- Data collection: The Reporting Analyst gathers data from various sources such as internal databases, enterprise systems, Excel files, or other relevant sources of information for analysis.
- Data analysis: Using analytical tools and techniques, the analyst examines the collected data to identify patterns, trends, and significant relationships. This involves applying statistical methods and data modeling to derive actionable insights.
- Report creation: The analyst generates reports and dashboards that summarize findings and key metrics in a clear and concise manner. These reports may include charts, tables, and data visualizations to facilitate understanding and decision-making.
- Tracking and monitoring: The Reporting Analyst regularly monitors metrics and performance indicators to identify changes or significant deviations. This entails ongoing data monitoring and generating periodic updates for relevant stakeholders.
- Continuous improvement: The analyst collaborates with other teams to identify opportunities for improvement in reporting and analysis processes. This involves identifying new data sources, implementing more efficient analysis tools, and optimizing existing reports.
- Strong English proficiency: A Reporting Analyst is expected to have a good level of English proficiency. This is essential for effective communication, as they may need to interact with stakeholders or teams in English-speaking environments, present findings to an international audience, or collaborate with colleagues from different regions.
- Responsibility and autonomy: The Reporting Analyst operates with a high level of responsibility and autonomy. They are entrusted with confidential data and are expected to handle it with care and integrity. They take ownership of their tasks and deliverables, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in their work.
Qualifications
Our most successful candidates will have:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills are crucial for a Reporting Analyst. You should have the ability to gather and interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights. Proficiency in using analytical tools and techniques, such as SQL, Excel, or data visualization software, is highly desirable.
- Data management: Proficiency in data management is essential. This includes experience in data collection, data cleaning, data transformation, and data modeling.
- Reporting and visualization: A Reporting Analyst should have experience in creating reports and dashboards that effectively communicate complex information. Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik is highly valued. They should be able to present data in a clear, concise, and visually appealing manner.
- Technical skills: Familiarity with programming languages, such as Python or R, can be advantageous for automating data analysis tasks or performing advanced statistical analysis. Knowledge of Excel functions, macros, and pivot tables is often required. Proficiency in using business intelligence tools and enterprise reporting systems is also beneficial. (Optional)
- Communication skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for a Reporting Analyst. You should be able to effectively convey complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Active listening skills and the ability to ask insightful questions are also valuable.
- Attention to detail: Given the importance of accuracy in reporting and analysis, strong attention to detail is crucial. A Reporting Analyst should be meticulous in their work, ensuring data integrity and avoiding errors in calculations or data interpretation.
- Problem-solving abilities: The ability to approach problems analytically and develop innovative solutions is highly desirable. A Reporting Analyst should be comfortable tackling complex data challenges and be able to provide valuable insights and recommendations based on their analysis.
