Data Analyst, Accounting III - FORT

Summary

The Accountant, Sr II Svc Fin will oversee daily and monthly servicing accounting functions to assure they are completed correctly and timely as per the policies established by Accounting Department management.

Essential Job Functions may include:

• Complex reconciliations of the loan servicing system and General Ledger.Validate data reporting sources by working with other departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Reconciliation of Mortgage Servicing Rights Sales and acquisitions holdbacks and advances.Work with Senior leads to provide accurate data.
• To regularly check daily and monthly accounting work relevant to Servicing (Svc) for assigned accounts.
• To provide research and relevant guidance to Corp. Accounting Department personnel regarding Servicing activities.
• To act as a liaison between Corp Accounting Department and Servicing Departments.
• Exhibits willingness to go above and beyond to resolve issues.
• Provide guidance and teach less senior Servicing Accounting staff.
• To analyze work flow and look for process improvement opportunities in both Servicing and Corp. Accounting.
• To assume when necessary ad hoc duties depending on the changing nature of our business.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Other Related Duties:

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises employees who generally perform less complex accounting assignments. May occasionally do the work of those supervised.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of Corporate accounting and servicing. Strong problem solving skills and ability to communicate findings.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related and a minimum of 5 years work Experience. Excel spreadsheet skills. Preferred accounting experience in Mortgage Industry.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write routine correspondence.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
