Summary/Overview:
KBRA - (Kroll Bond Rating Agency, LLC) is seeking a Data Analyst with a strong database management background in SQL to join our growing Corporate Credit Assessment Group. This individual will focus on building out and managing KBRA’s growing database of private corporate assessments and using it to conduct fundamental credit research. The Corporate Credit Assessment Group at KBRA is one of the firm’s most dynamic and rapidly growing teams. The# Group provides credit analytics that directly contribute to credit ratings issued across KBRA asset classes including Structured Credit, Asset-Backed Securities, Project Finance, and Funds, among others. The position will be based out of KBRA’s New York City office.

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and upkeep of a research database within KBRA’s Corporate Assessment Team.
- Collaborate on writing and publishing timely research about corporate credit trends, markets, and any other topics relevant to KBRA clients. Analysts are encouraged to bring ideas to their managers on an ongoing basis. You may see your work published on the KBRA website!
- Work in partnership with professionals in other KBRA sectors daily to meet client deadlines and deliver the best-in-class work for which KBRA is recognized.
- Develop a deep understanding of variables that impact corporate credit risk and how market fluctuations directly impact a company’s bottom line and risk profile.
Key Job Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications for All Applicants
- Significant experience or comfort with database management languages like SQL and with database management projects.
- Prior experience or coursework in financial accounting and credit analysis.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline like Computer Science, Database Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics.
- Keen interest in Credit Analysis/Capital Markets with an ability to learn quickly.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work both independently and as a team.
- Curiosity and drive to learn/develop.
- 2 or more years of business experience
- Technical expertise with the following is required: SQL, Visual Basic (VBA), Microsoft Office Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coding / Programing Skills including SQL, VBA, Python and /or R
- Familiarity with accounting and financial statement analysis
Salary Range:
The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $60,000 to $75,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
