Data Analyst – ESG/Sustainability

We are looking for a Data Analyst – ESG/Sustainability to provide key research and detailed analytical support for ESG (“Environmental, Social & Governance”) initiatives aligned with Rexford’s long-term ESG goals. As a key member of the Rexford Industrial ESG team, reporting to the Director, Sustainability, this newly created role will be responsible for providing extensive support on ESG reporting requirements.

The most successful person will have previous experience working in a real estate organization and knowledge of applied data science and analytics. They will apply their strong background in data management, data auditing, and trending analysis in support of the sustainability performance reporting. They will work in an integrated and collaborative manner with cross-functional teams throughout the Rexford organization to support ESG initiatives (Design and Construction, Property Management, Leasing, Legal and Acquisitions, Finance and Accounting) as well as with external partners.

Data Analyst – ESG/Sustainability Responsibilities:

• Perform key research, data collection, and detailed analytics in support for ESG initiatives aligned with Rexford’s long-term ESG goals and ESG reporting requirements (e.g., GRESB, GRI, CDP, TCFD, SASB)
• Administer data reporting systems, processes, and procedures, including ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and development of enhancements to existing and new data platforms
• Interpret, analyze, and report sustainability metrics such as energy and embodied carbon calculations, greenhouse gas reporting, and financial cost benefit analysis of sustainability-related projects
• Identify and implement ways for managing sustainability data efficiently and effectively
• Develop analytical tools to provide enhanced decision-making capability to the business and innovative ways to communicate sustainability-related data and trends
• Support the implementation of Science Based Targets and Net Zero commitment roadmaps (i.e., monitor and quantify the success of implemented initiatives)

Data Analyst – ESG/Sustainability Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, finance / economics, business, sustainability, or related field
• Minimum 3+ years related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education, preferably in a real estate organization and/or ESG/sustainability-related role
• Proficiency in data analytics tools (g., MS Excel, Smartsheet) and ability to quickly learn new software
• Self-starter with positive attitude and ability to multi-task in a high work volume, fast-paced environment
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including ability to create compelling presentations and convey complex and innovative concepts to diverse sets of stakeholders
